Traditional composting is a well-suited biotechnology for on-farm management of livestock manure (LM) but still leads to the release toxic micropollutants and imbalance nutrients. One in situ exoenzyme-assisted has shown promise ameliorate agronomical quality end products by improving humification polymerization. The naturally occurring extracellular laccase from microorganisms belongs multicopper phenoloxidase, which verified its versatility tackle conserve organics through reactive radical-enabled decomposition polymerization channels. Laccase possesses an indispensable relationship with humus formation during LM composting, potential applications harmless disposal resource utilization have until now been overlooked. Herein, we review laccase-aided mechanism optimizing strategy maintain enzyme activity production, highlighting critical roles treating preserving composting. Particularly, functional effects formed laccase-amended on plant growth are also discussed. Finally, future perspectives outstanding questions summarized. This provides fundamental insights into laccase-boosted that ameliorates beneficial guide advance practical exoenzyme remediation, carbon cycle, agriculture protection.
