A new MgO-AC (magnesium oxide modified activated carbon) adsorbent was successfully synthesized under microwave irradiation. XRD, FT-IR, XPS, SEM and N2 adsorption were used to characterize the properties of MgO-AC. It found that highly crystalline preparation process, doping MgO (Magnesium oxide) did not cause gap blockage AC (activated carbon), but micropore area average pore size increased significantly. Multiple conditional parameters studied determine optimal effect, such as roasting temperature, holding time, amount, contact system pH, initial concentration Cd(II) (divalent cadmium ion). The results show parameter conditions are follows: insulation temperature is 800 °C, time 40 min, amount 1/20 AC, maximum capacity 649.9 mg·g−1 at pH = 7. In addition, thermodynamic studies process spontaneous endothermic, kinetic isotherm models pseudo-second-order model Langmuir well fitted for process.

There is an urgent need to develop multifunctional cost-effective nanomaterials and nanocomposites that can be used in numerous applications while showing high efficiency cheaper implementation compared conventional techniques and/or materials. In this work, zinc/iron layered double hydroxide (LDH) polyaniline (PANI) were synthesized as a model LDH/conductive polymer nanocomposite, which promising family of cheap This electrochemical properties nanocomposite was investigated for detection heavy metal (HM) ions water streams, using lead HM . the present LDH PANI assigned carbon paste electrode modifier. The composite fully characterized various characterization including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform InfraRed (FTIR). redox reactions (II) at modified interface cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse (DPV), Accordingly, linear relation Pb2+ achieved concentration range 1–80 µM with limit (LOD) 167.8 nM quantification (LOQ) 559.4 nM. Furthermore, cost such material removal typical adsorption study inductively coupled plasma (ICP) or atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) equipment tracking during process. Cost analysis revealed final overall estimated 1.25 USD. represents less than 0.1% total required conduct same ICP AAS equipment. pave road towards portable measurements onsite wastewater pollutants disposable-electrodes massive expensive off site AAS.
