The interaction between microplastics (MPs) and cadmium (Cd) poses a threat to agricultural soil environments, their effects on plant growth rhizosphere microbial community functions are not yet clear. In this study, energy sorghum was used as test investigate the of two types MPs, polystyrene (PS) polyethylene (PE), at different particle sizes (13 μm, 550 μm) concentrations (0.1%, 1% w/w), Cd, well interactions, in soil-cultivation pot experiment. results showed that combined MP Cd pollution dry weight accumulation rate varied depending type, concentration, size with an overall trend increasing stress from content accumulation. High-throughput sequencing analysis revealed increased bacterial diversity, most significant increase observed abundance-based coverage estimator (ACE), Shannon, Sobs indices 13 μm PS+Cd treatment group. Metagenomic based Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) metabolic pathways 19 groups pathways, including metabolism methane metabolism, differed significantly under pollution. Hierarchical clustering indicated affected abundances nitrogen (N) phosphorus (P) cycling genes type present important factor affecting N P genes. study provide basis for exploring toxic conducting environmental risk assessments.
