Abstract Photocatalysis has emerged a promising strategy to remedy the current energy and environmental crisis due its ability directly convert clean solar into chemical energy. Bismuth tungstate (Bi 2 WO 6 ) been shown be an excellent visible light response, well-defined perovskite crystal structure, abundance of oxygen atoms (providing efficient channels for photogenerated carrier transfer) their suitable band gap, effective electron migration separation, making them ideal photocatalysts. It extensively applied as photocatalyst in aspects including pollutant removal, carbon dioxide reduction, hydrogen production, ammonia synthesis by nitrogen photocatalytic cancer therapy. In this review, fabrication application Bi photocatalysis were comprehensively discussed. The properties -based materials significantly enhanced modification, construction heterojunctions, atom doping improve rate, number surface active sites, photoexcitation composites. addition, potential development directions existing challenges performance
