Current single-function superwettable materials are typically designed for either oil removal or water and constrained by density, limiting their widespread applications. Janus membranes with opposite wettability on two surfaces have recently emerged present attractive opportunities on-demand oil/water emulsion separation. Here, a combination strategy is introduced to prepare membrane asymmetric superwettability switchable A mussel-inspired interface introduction cooperating the sequence-confined surface modification not only brings about an but also guarantees outstanding stable remarkable chemical stability surfaces. Specifically, superhydrophilic underwater superoleophobicity can separate surfactant-stabilized oil-in-water emulsions. Conversely, other displays superhydrophobicity superoleophilicity treat water-in-oil Significantly, this presents superior long-term separation without obvious flux decline high recovery ability because of its stability. Furthermore, enhances interfacial floatability at air–water interfaces, enabling design advanced materials. The as-prepared has established cooperated system, overcoming monotony conventional expanding application these specialized oily wastewater treatment.

Due to the high viscosity and low fluidity of viscous crude oil, how effectively recover spilled oil is still a major global challenge. Although solar thermal absorbers have made significant progress in accelerating recovery, its practical application largely restricted by variability radiation intensity, which influenced external environmental factors. To address this issue, study created new composite fiber that not only possesses energy conversion storage capabilities but also facilitates removal. PF@PAN@PEG was obtained coaxial electrospinning processing, with PEG within PAN fibers, coating layer applied surface impart oleophilicity hydrophobicity. exhibited latent heat value (77.12 J/g), porosity, excellent photothermal capabilities, significantly reducing oil. can adsorb approximately 11.65 g/g under sunlight irradiation. Notably, due encapsulation PEG, continuously maintain at phase change temperature releasing specific conditions, no leakage all. When light intensity varied, collection efficiency increased 21.99% compared when material added. This research offers potential approach for effective use clean spill pollution.

Crude oil spill accidents cause extreme environmental damage, with huge economic costs that include the loss of resources. Despite advances in conventional cleanup technology, such as dispersants, absorbents, and skimmers, there is still a need for more efficient solutions. In this study, we introduce Joule-heated stearic acid/carbon nanotube-wrapped polyurethane sponge (SCPU) rapid all-weather recovery leaked crude oil. SCPU both hydrophobic oleophilic electrically conductive. When 6 V were applied across SCPU, surface temperature increased to 146 °C within 70 s, which reduced viscosity shortened time by over 99%. addition, can continuously recover floating on water when connected peristaltic pump. This has high adsorption capacity, scalable preparation method, mechanically stable, thus expected provide an practical solution responding accidents.
