Immunoassay based on the antibodies specific for targets has advantages of high sensitivity, simplicity and low cost, therefore it received more attention in recent years, especially rapid detection small molecule chemicals present foods, diagnostics environments. However, limited by molecular weight only one antigenic determinant existed, immunoassays these chemicals, namely hapten substances, were commonly performed a competitive immunoassay format, whose sensitivities obviously lower than sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay generally adaptable protein targets. In order to break through bottleneck researchers have designed established several novel noncompetitive haptens past few years. this review, we focused four representative types formats described their characteristics applications molecules. Meanwhile, systematic discussion current technologies challenges possible solutions also summarized. This review aims provide an updated overview state-of-the-art molecules, inspire development designs detection.
