Microplastics (MPs) and fluoxetine are ubiquitous emerging pollutants in aquatic environments that may interact with each other due to the carrier effects of MPs, posing unpredictable risks non-target organisms. However, limited studies have focused on MPs food chain. This study evaluated influences polystyrene trophic transfer biotoxicity a simple chain composed brine shrimp (Artemia nauplii) zebrafish (Danio rerio). The findings revealed enhanced accumulation waterborne shrimp, but suppressed distinct retention times. accumulated was further transferred fish through chain, which alleviated by their cleaning effects. In addition, specific neurotransmission induced mitigated whilst oxidative damage, apoptosis, immune responses were reversely stimulating effect. These highlight alleviating providing new insights into context increasing global MP pollution. microplastics attracted rapidly attention potential threats organisms, particularly knowledge regarding is still poorly understood Herein, we investigated co-existing results finding provides under microplastic

The Stockholm Convention treaty of the United Nations Environment Program has impeded mass production legacy brominated fire retardants (BFRs) paving route to introduce novel BFRs (NBFRs) into industrial market. Tetrabromobisphenol A diallyl ether (TBBPA-DAE), is a widely emerging NBFR with high rate production. deleterious impacts, neurobehavioral consequences and toxic effects NBFRs have been well-documented. Co-pyrolysis metal oxides emerged as potential de-bromination technique in e-waste recycling that curtails bromine release environment. Herein, multitude characterization studies are done probe debromination efficiency lead oxide (PbO) during its co-pyrolysis TBBPA-DAE via products (char, gas condensates) analyses. thermogravimetric analysis suggested pyrolytic run up 600 °C. GCMS showed compounds was completely restricted condensate at °C by increasing phenol This due capture HBr PbO form PbBr2, which validated spectral, XRD SEM-EDX IC also endorsed better (80.04 %) comparison HCl (45.57 proving good agent envisaging further probes other NBFRs. study investigates de-chlorination PVC establish universal de-halogenation capacity toward mixed halogenated plastic wastes.

Abstract The European Commission asked EFSA to update its 2012 risk assessment on brominated phenols and their derivatives in food, focusing five bromophenols one derivative: 2,4,6‐tribromophenol (2,4,6‐TBP), 2,4‐dibromophenol (2,4‐DBP), 4‐bromophenol (4‐BP), 2,6‐dibromophenol (2,6‐DBP), tetrabrominated bisphenol S (TBBPS), tetrabromobisphenol bismethyl ether (TBBPS‐BME). Based the overall evidence, CONTAM Panel considered vivo genotoxicity of 2,4,6‐TBP be unlikely. Effects liver kidney were as critical effects (2,4,6‐TBP) studies rats. A BMDL10 353 mg/kg body weight (bw) per day for papillary necrosis male rats was identified selected reference point characterisation. derivation a health‐based guidance value not appropriate due major limitations toxicological database. Instead, margin exposure (MOE) approach applied assess possible health concerns. Around 78,200 analytical results food used estimate dietary population. Considering resulting MOE values, all far above an 6000 that does raise concern, accounting uncertainties affecting hazard assessments, concluded with at least 95% probability current concern. Due lack occurrence data, no could performed breastfed or formula‐fed infants. No characterisation any other included assessment, data both toxicity occurrence.
