Due to its adjustable pore structure, the metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted much attention in treatment of organic dye molecules wastewater. However, general tuning channels MOFs is mainly by changing chain length ligands and metal nodes. This approach not only limits types MOFs, but also a large number methylene blue (MB) methyl orange (MO) Hence, we synthesized photoresponsive Zn-AzDC/TPA MOF as adsorbents adsorb release photo-controlled manner. The was prepared using mixed ligand strategy, which azobenzene carboxylic acid derivative (AzDC) served terephthalic (TPA) non-active coordination with zinc ion. optical structural properties characterized UV–vis, FT-IR, PXRD, SEM, TEM, TGA, analysis. Interestingly, it found that AzDC unit demonstrated reversible trans–cis isomerization under alternating UV visible light, resulting changes size Zn-AzDC/TPA. Its photoresponse can trapp light-driven conditions. result provides new direction for application lays foundation study diversified optically responsive materials.
