Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has become a major global healthcare issue due to its high prevalence and mortality rates. Increasing evidence suggests that autophagy plays role in the development of COPD, yet there is lack bibliometric analyses on literature related COPD. Therefore, this study aims summarize current research status, direction, hotspots COPD autophagy. A search was conducted Web Science Core Collection for from October 2004 2024. Subsequently, visualization were performed included publications using R software, CiteSpace, VOSviewer. total 481 published articles across 229 journals included. During period, trend continuous growth both annual number citations field. The United States had highest centrality, while China most productive country. Major institutions Maastricht University, Harvard Jikei University. American Journal Physiology-Lung Cellular Molecular Physiology, International Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Autophagy are influential author with papers Araya J, Choi AMK author. Frequently appearing keywords include "oxidative stress," "obstructive disease," "aging," "apoptosis," "mitophagy." This helps researchers quickly understand overview thus providing new insights directions future
