ABSTRACT The reuse of domestic treated wastewater in agriculture poses a significant challenge as result the incomplete removal micropollutants, with considerable public health, economic, and environmental consequences. Post-treatment by sorption-based technologies using biochar can mitigate these micropollutant-related concerns. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate efficacy various types eliminating micropollutants from ensure safe practices. utilised was made softwood hygienized sewage sludge. Five indicator were used assess efficiency different biochars. experimental campaign consisted two steps, starting preliminary assessment under constant operational conditions. This approach identified type that achieved highest efficiency. Second, response surface methodology then carried out explore interactive impacts variables on selected type, softwood-biochar. showed softwood-biochar remove benzotriazole, carbamazepine, diclofenac, irbesartan, metformin 98, 92, 94, 90, 99% efficiency, respectively. These findings pave way for development low-cost micropollutant technique reuse.
