Fruit quality is crucial for nutrition and human health requires emergent cautions in contemporary agricultural techniques. Ecological farming might not be as successful conventional management systems; however, it may yield superior fruits due to reduced protection treatments. This research aimed investigate the influence of ecological practices on physicochemical properties (fruit color, weight, firmness, titratable acidity, total sugar, vitamin C), antioxidant activities, bioactive compounds (total polyphenols, anthocyanin flavonoids), macroelements composition (N, P, K), heavy metal concentration (Zn, Cd, Pb Cu) Centenar plum variety soil system under environmental conditions Romania. The analysis revealed that practice increased polyphenol content (3.26–4.52 mg GAE/g dw) activity (19.53–21.70 µm Trolox/g dw); supported healthy soils maintained or built organic carbon more substantially (56.68 Mg C ha−1). Moreover, consistent vigorous fruit colors were provided by where small (41 g) obtained compared (44 g). Among fruit, Cu had highest level (0.74–1.07 kg−1), while Cd lowest (0.003–0.007 kg−1). potential risk metals accumulation orchard their transfer (MTF) was also analyzed. Total carcinogenic (TCR) values all less than 1 (≤1), which considered a safe with no concern health. These results show received improved nutritional correspond sustainable food production through limiting resource competition.

Pollution is a global issue contributing to biodiversity loss, climate change, and human health concerns. Lead (Pb) has long been recognized as toxic heavy metal pollutant but few studies have investigated the impact routes of exposure lead in field conditions across multiple species. We collected 22 common species butterflies gradient pollution Twin Cities metropolitan area (Minneapolis St. Paul, MN, USA). measured their thorax concentrations body condition including wing area, number eggs, brain mass. quantified soil, host plant leaves, air (through lichen bio-monitors) at sites where were investigate potential exposure. found negative correlation between sublethal butterfly size all Contrary expectations from previous literature, we did not find correlations concentration eggs or Our data indicate that for are particularly pronounced through soil air, relative plants, there positive nearby plants. Such effects lead, even low levels pollution, underline importance continuing reduce emissions impacts pollutants protect biodiversity.

Frankliniella intonsa (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is a polyphagous pest that causes significant economic agricultural losses by damaging flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees. We performed an age-stage two-sex life table analysis to evaluate the performance adaptability of F. against nine common vegetable crops cultivated in Guangxi: cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) (Fabales: Leguminosae), green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) soybean (Glycine max) catjang cylindrica) courgette (Cucurbita pepo) (Cucurbitales: Cucurbitaceae), wax gourd (Benincasa hispida) bitter (Momordica charantia) cucumber (Cucumis sativus) chieh-qua Cucurbitaceae). Among tested host crops, beans, cowpea, significantly accelerated growth rate favored reproductive success intonsa. Green facilitated rapid success. The mean generation times (T) net rates (R0) were as follows: 14.90 d, 17.09 21.03 104.04, 45.51, 32.61. Bitter suppressed population (T: 49.49 0 d; R0: 0.73, 0). Wax gourd, cucumber, exhibited moderate effects characterized delayed development lower output 22.30 20.30 19.51 32.73 7.17, 25.22, 13.74, 12.54). These findings highlight critical role crop type dynamics. Therefore, production necessitates improved control measures monitoring. Similar are needed for soybeans, gourds because they pose risks potential hosts.

Due to the intensification of human activities, ecosystems are being polluted by heavy metals. The pollution metals in agricultural systems has become a serious issue global concern. This study detected bioaccumulation cadmium (Cd) broad beans and aphids through continuous exposure varying concentrations Cd (0, 3.125, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 mg/L) subsequently examined its effects on aphid energy metabolism reproductive ability. results showed that can be transmitted accumulated between Vicia faba L. along food chain, amount accumulation was related treatment concentration. Quantitative real-time PCR expression levels trehalase (TRE) trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS) F1 were significantly upregulated, those vitellogenin (Vg) varied across five generations after treatment, which up-regulated, others down-regulated. Compared with control group, glycogen content two types activities first-generation Cd-treatment decreased, while trehalose increased; there no significant change carbohydrate activity fourth fifth aphids. In addition, reproduction female inhibited. research is helpful for studying toxic insects adaptation mechanisms extreme environments. It also provides theoretical basis further exploring molecular homeostasis plants under stress.
