Cd (cadmium) has been categorized as a crucial food pollutant by the World Health Organization. Research regarding pollution mainly centers on source of anthropogenic pollution. Nevertheless, there is scarce knowledge concerning natural weathering input Cd, particularly that from sedimentary rocks bedrocks. Herein, we endeavored to explore contribution various (Quaternary sediments, mudstone, limestone, sandstone, shale, greywacke, and marl) under similar conditions in agricultural soils. The concentrations soils with different bedrocks are follows: sandstone: 0.30 ± 0.03 mg/kg (SME) > Quaternary sediments: 0.04 shale: 0.25 greywacke: 0.24 mudstone: 0.01 marl: 0.22 0.02 limestone: 0.21 (SME). results major element oxides (K2O, MgO, Na2O, Fe2O3, CaO) imply soil primarily stems However, random forest analysis reveals formation processes marl lead loss soil, while those shale limestone result into soil. This study emphasizes process import closely related type bedrock process.
