Airborne micro and nanoplastics (MPs/NPs) are a growing issue due to their possible health hazards. Since the current bibliography lacks thorough evaluation, this review examines sources, environmental dynamics, impacts of airborne MPs/NPs. Through atmospheric transport processes, these neo-pollutants spread around world after being released, potentially settling in urban remote areas. This is first compare active passive aerosol sampling methods, microscopy, thermochemical, spectroscopy analytical techniques, with focus on limitations precisely quantifying micro-nanoscale plastic particles. It also draws attention potential toxicological effects inhaled MPs/NPs, which can lead oxidative stress, respiratory inflammation, other negative consequences. concludes by examining how MPs/NPs may worsen ecological impact serving as carriers hazardous chemicals microbial pollutants. Despite awareness, there still many unanswered questions, especially about long-term exposure conditions affect The aim was bring MP/NP promote development advanced monitoring systems, new multidisciplinary scientific field for study novel pollutants, global regulatory frameworks.
