Abstract Low impact development (LID) is a sustainable land use and planning strategy that aims to minimize the environmental impacts of development. A community can enhance their water resources create resilient neighbourhoods. This approach has demonstrated success in managing stormwater promoting reuse globally, however, its suitability developing countries like Indonesia remains uncertain requires further investigation. The implementation LID may face several challenges including high density complex drainage networks, combined sewer usage, clay soil type, irregular housing layouts, socio-economic characteristics, affordability, cost, availability regulations policies. With proper site-specific strategies, be implemented effectively Indonesia. Clear regulations, secured funding source community-based are all essential for successful deployment. paper used as starting point considering other with similar characteristics.

Urbanization coupled with climate change is expected to put pressure on the urban stormwater network. To predict and mitigate effects of these trends, accurate modeling changes required at scales resolutions meaningful management. Climate change is projected to alter rainfall patterns in many parts of the US and around world, highlighting importance stormwater management systems within resiliency efforts. Stormwater typically are designed based on historical records with assumption climate stationarity. To address the challenges of twenty-first century, particularly negative effects climate change, mitigation measures such as Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are being employed. Vegetation, a part various NbS interventions, provides different ecosystem services that help combat current climate-related vulnerabilities. This research aims to illustrate connection between plants’ contribution adapting change and creation more sustainable spaces, focusing on usage bioretention systems (BRs) an example NbS. Some main aspects how vegetation is selected for BRs according qualities may contribute developing landscapes, along with providing key features adaptation, taxonomic data, specific plant species have been demonstrated be good candidates planting in BRs, also discussed. ABSTRACT Natural or semi-natural elements, referred to by various terms such as green infrastructure (GI), are increasingly adopted a win-win solution develop water-wise, climate-resilient, and sustainable societies. Accordingly, comprehensive performance assessment of GIs is necessary for their management, making them more appealing multiple sectors, improving funding prospects. Several guidelines proposing impact indicators have been developed worldwide recently. To evaluate applicability, this study critically examines some the most well-known from parts world that deal with evaluation different functional aspects GIs. Findings show considerable differences. The European guideline one considering number addressed indicators. In contrast, Chinese standard mostly focuses on water quality/quantity performance. Moreover, degree quality evaluated using thorough set measures consists 19 criteria. By addressing 12 out criteria, state New South Wales standards encompassed compilation requirements than others. However, way in which assessed should be interpreted instance where gap present believed especially significant.

Urban floods will continue to be an alarming issue worldwide due climate change and urban expansion. The costly less environmentally friendly grey infrastructure is not always the most adequate solution resolve pluvial flooding issues. combination of blue-green infrastructures, also called hybrid infrastructure, has been considered a promising for stormwater management. Existing approaches identifying suitable solutions frequently rely on global multi-objective optimization algorithms. We developed pre-screening method that decomposes drainage network into clusters pipes connected sub-catchments, based pipe hydraulic characteristic allows impact combinations (blue-green grey) mapped. Four matrices are proposed map total, local, upstream, downstream flood reduction all possible blue-green, grey, solutions. Using catchment in Guangzhou (China) as case study, results showed such exercise could identify prime candidate locations while filtering out ineffective reduction. Furthermore, enabled identification zones where handle mitigation without need local upgrades. As such, they only useful quick screening interventions each flooded zone, but can potentially serve priori knowledge before diving data computationally expensive process finding effective
