Abstract Climate change was projected to have negative effects on water availability and consequently a serious constraint food production in many areas of the world. However, such not been well understood, particularly over rainfed croplands, partly because poor representation green associated assessments. In this study, we develop an integrated agricultural scarcity index (WSI ag ) that incorporates blue components examine baseline (1981–2005) future (2026–2050) periods under Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP)2.6 RCP6.0 scenarios. Results show ∼3.8 million km 2 (∼39% total) croplands experienced period it would expand by more than 3% future. Under two scenarios, WSI projections are similar overall higher 83%–84% global total croplands. Differences found between scenarios Amazonia, Southern Africa, South Asia. The increases dominated decreased ∼60% ∼24% which is increased crop requirement. Changes significant contribution changes 16% mostly arid/semiarid regions (e.g., edge Sahel, Northeast China, Central America). This implies important role management for agriculture these regions. assessment can help effective strategies climate change.

Ensuring the reliability of data obtained from Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) deployed in farmland to monitor soil parameters is crucial for optimizing smart irrigation. These distributed sensor nodes encounter various challenges and are vulnerable faults that can significantly degrade network's service quality. In this article, we present an innovative approach detecting within WSNs irrigation by combining autoregressive model with a Kalman filter. Integrating filter combines their strengths synergistic manner. The algorithm developed consideration resource constraints addresses challenge lacking ground truth information monitored area. primary advantage proposed technique lies its simplicity implementation, requiring minimal computational complexity while enhancing application's reliability. Through experimentation validation, demonstrate effectiveness combined fault detection real-world scenarios.

The uneven spatial–temporal distribution of ecosystem services in humid regions seriously hinders the achievement regional ecological construction and sustainable development goals. However, most studies have ignored mechanism coupled water supply demand, there is no clear understanding relationship between habitat quality under future land use/land cover (LULC). This study based on Han River (HR) Basin integrates PLUS InVEST models to propose an integrated framework for quantifying spatial temporal changes associated production, quality, current risk demand use changes. results show that from 2000 2050, Natural Development Scenario (NDS) expanding, proportion forest grassland decreasing, decreasing 0.7052 0.7046. Under Ecological Protection (EPS), increase has slowed, large areas cropland been converted land, improved. (EDS), lands rises, declines (0.6923). In particular, production greater low quality. overall HR basin slightly decreased, increased significantly. deficit area upper extensively 2020, basin's increased. proposes relevant mitigation strategies enhance coordinated development, which can provide a scientific basis resource management planning wetland areas.
