Abstract The one‐carbon degradation of aliphatic carboxylic acids has been studied using a H 2 IrCl 6 ‐Ru(CO) 4 I bimetallic catalyst. Alkanes, RH, have obtained from the corresponding RCOOH in good to near quantitative yields via process that is thought involve (i) decarbonylation involves formation alkenes along with CO and O, (ii) water–gas shift (WGS) reaction give , (iii) hydrogenation resulting alkenes.

Series of Ni-Mo catalysts based on ZSM-23 zeolite were synthesized by incipient wetness impregnation – with a fixed content Ni (5 wt. %). These tested in hydroprocessing mixture fatty acids (C 16 -C 18 ) flow reactor at temperature 300 °C, pressure 2.5 MPa and WHSV = 8.4 h -1 . The influence the ratio metals formation forms active component, as well activity, selectivity to iso-alkanes stability during undiluted was determined. investigated range from 0 1. highest deoxygenation activity isoalkanes yield found for sample Mo/(Ni+Mo) equal 0.25, which, according XPS, surface is 0.4.
