Effluents containing synthetic anionic dyes can pose a risk to ecosystems, and they must be treated before their release the environment. Biosorption, simple effective process, may promising solution for treating these effluents. In this work, chitosan beads were crosslinked with epichlorohydrin produce highly stable performant biosorbent remove Brilliant Blue FCF dye. The was characterized by determining functional groups on its surface, as well elemental composition, crystallinity, surface morphology. Crosslinking significantly improved biosorption capacity of beads. A maximum 600 mg/g corresponding 99% removal efficiency observed at pH 3.0, dose 0.5 g/L, an initial dye concentration 300 mg/L, contact time 10 h, temperature 323 K. in described Langmuir isotherm followed adsorption kinetic pseudo second order. thermodynamic parameters indicate spontaneous process. presence anions such NO3- SO42- could interfere beads, but Cl- did not Over three biosorption/desorption cycles, showed 97% desorption rate over 98%. Chitosan is available worldwide low-cost biomaterial, presenting high potential used treat industrial effluents compounds, dyes.

A new green hydrogel consisting of cherry stone (CS) powder and sodium alginate (SA) was synthesized through physical crosslinking. The product had a mean diameter 3.95 mm, moisture content 92.28%, bulk density 0.58 g/cm3, swelling ratio 45.10%. analyses its morphological structure functional groups by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed the successful entrapping CS in SA polymeric matrix. viability prepared as adsorbent tested towards Orange II (OII) anionic dye. influence pH, amount, contact time, initial dye concentration evaluated. Then, impact three accelerating factors (stirring speed, ultrasound exposure duration, temperature) on OII retention investigated. highest recorded removal efficiency adsorption capacity were 82.20% 6.84 mg/g, respectively. followed Elovich pseudo-second-order kinetics, adequately described Freundlich Khan isotherms, can be defined spontaneous, endothermic, random. experiments confirmed that obtained used acceptably for at least two consecutive cycles, sustaining effectiveness water decontamination.

Crystal violet dye, widely used in industries, poses environmental and human health hazards due to its persistence toxicity. Effective removal methods are critical mitigate these impacts. This study presents the synthesis of a novel ZrO2@MnCO3@CdCO3 nanocomposite for efficient crystal dye from aqueous solutions. The was synthesized using precipitation method characterized XRD, SEM, EDX, BET surface area analysis. Adsorption experiments were conducted under various conditions, including pH, contact time, concentration, temperature. exhibited mesoporous structure (22.38 m2/g area, 0.0935 cm3/g total pore volume, 8.79 nm average size) an crystallite size 76.30 nm. maximum adsorption capacity 179.52 mg/g, following pseudo-second-order kinetics Langmuir isotherm. Thermodynamic studies revealed exothermic, physical, spontaneous process. Regeneration demonstrated high reusability with desorption efficiency reaching 99.67% over five cycles.

Printing and dyeing wastewater is known for its high color intensity, complex composition, low biodegradability, making treatment a significant challenge in environmental protection. Dolomite natural mineral with abundant reserves can be effectively used as an adsorbent carrier. In this study, the dolomite loaded by Fe2O3 composites (DFC) was synthesized systematically characterized using XRD, SEM, TEM, BET, XPS, IR to evaluate structural surface properties. The adsorption performance of DFC on Congo Red (CR) then investigated. maximum amount CR 3790.06 mg⋅g−1, removal rate still stable at 97% after five cycles test, which demonstrated that exhibited exceptional efficacy regeneration capability. Fe3+ beneficial improve effect DFC. addition, type adsorption, kinetic calculations were performed, indicated Weber–Morris diffusion modeling study showed behavior influenced interplay many mechanisms. offers innovative method efficient utilization creating renewable materials dye remediation.

Industrialization and globalization have caused severe environmental problems, such as contaminating water bodies by toxic agents from various industries, generating a significant loss of biodiversity health risks. Globally, approximately 80% wastewater is discharged without treatment, worsening the situation. However, in Colombia, initiatives been taken to improve management, with ambitious investments targets treatment infrastructure. Recently, advanced technologies developed treat wastewater, including more efficient sustainable biological methods, using coconut-derived adsorbent biomaterials, rich useful properties for adsorption pollutants solutions. This research focuses on developing composite biomaterial cellulose acetate (CA) extracted coconut mesocarp polyhydroxy butyrate (PHB), casting method, wastewater. Adsorption tests tracer methylene blue (MB) were carried out Energy Environment laboratory University Cartagena. For this, MB solutions prepared 5 50 ppm concentrations. The analyses showed that thermally stable has good homogeneity porosity. At concentration 40 dosage 10 mg adsorbent, efficiency was 89%, an capacity 35.98 mg/g. above indicates presented sustainable, improved, solution remove contaminants benefiting environment human health.
