As people attempt to elude the environmental issues associated with synthetic dyes, interest in natural dyes has recently increased significantly. Oolong tea stems act as a common agricultural waste yet offer advantages like high production, low cost, and stable supply. The objectives of this research are investigate potential utilization oolong waste, specifically stems, dye source for development organic cotton fabrics added health benefits. In study, using Kubelka–Munk (K/S) value an indicator, dyeing process was refined through response surface methodology (RSM) by investigating pH solution, temperature, duration. Accordingly, it demonstrated that optimal effect achieved at 7.9, duration 80 min, temperature 90 °C. Furthermore, under these conditions, color fastness functional performance dyed were compared without chitosan mordant. results showed stem extract not only had good grade but also presented excellent antibacterial properties, ultraviolet protection oxidation resistance. Especially assistance chitosan, fabric above 4 all test items; moreover, its activity against Staphylococcus aureus reached more than 90%, coefficient 25.3, antioxidant exceeded 90%. Consequently, considering concerns, extracted from discarded promising substitutes textile sector.
