Phosphors-converted near-infrared LED (pc-NIR LED) possesses applications in various fields including food quality analysis, night vision, biomedical imaging, and biomedicine. The design development of broadband (NIR) phosphors with the required properties are decisive significance for pc-NIR devices. Cr3+ doped considered to be most promising materials commercialization. Broadband NIR luminescent have attracted more attention due their potential light sources. However, emission wavelength phosphor is generally located I region less than 850 nm, realizing II still a challenge. Abstract Near‐infrared (NIR) phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diodes (pc‐LEDs) are an emerging light source demanded for the miniaturization of NIR spectroscopy. However, photoelectric efficiency and spectral properties pc‐LEDs still very limited due to a lack efficient broadband phosphors with peak emission wavelength >850 nm. Here, novel Cr 3+ ‐activated perovskite‐like Mg 4 Ta 2 O 9 phosphor is reported, which exhibits broad band peaking at 850 nm high internal (external) quantum 72% (33.4%). The fabricated pc‐LED shows covering whole 700–1100 spectrum range conversion 22.1% 10 mA. This work may provide new paradigm discovery singly doped excellent performance.

The Cr3+-doped near-infrared (NIR) phosphors have been extensively investigated owing to their promising applications in biomedicine, food safety detection, and night vision surveillance. However, achieving broadband (FWHM > 160 nm) NIR emission is still challenging. In this paper, novel Y2Mg2Ga2-xSi2O12:xCr3+ (YMGS:xCr3+, x = 0.005-0.08) were prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction. crystal structure, photoluminescence properties of the phosphor, device performance pc-LED researched detail. When excited at 440 nm, YMGS:0.04Cr3+ phosphor exhibited range 650-1000 peaking 790 nm with full width half-maximum (FWHM) up 180 nm. wide FWHM YMGS:Cr3+ conducive its extensive application spectroscopic technology. addition, could maintain 70% initial intensity 373 K. By combining commercial blue chip resulting demonstrated output power 14 mW photoelectric conversion efficiency 5% drive current 100 mA. This work provides option for devices.
