Hydrogen is a promising energy vector; however, its storage in solid-state materials still an unresolved problem. on Mg-based ongoing research area. Here, five materials, Mg2(Co1/3Fe1/3Ni1/3), Mg2(Cu1/3Fe1/3Ni1/3), Mg2(Co1/3Cu1/3Fe1/3), Mg2(Co1/3Cu1/3Ni1/3), and Mg2(Co1/4Cu1/4Fe1/4Ni1/4), are reported for hydrogen storage. The hydriding dehydriding reactions these proceed via two steps. first step associated with the Mg/MgH2 equilibrium, while second related to simultaneous formation of mixtures hydrided Mg-intermetallics. All studied demonstrate easy mild conditions (15 bar, 300 °C). Mg2(Co1/3Fe1/3Ni1/3) can be considered best material among series, capacity 3.8 wt. % onset temperature 243 °C. presence Cu modified equilibrium pressure induced partial at 250 °C pressure-composition isothermal testing. Fe favored uptake reaction, from 0.5 without 1.1–2.2 materials. elements Co, Cu, demonstrated synergistic effects hydriding/dehydriding reactions.

An alternative to the existing method of processing secondary magnesium raw materials by remelting in a salt furnace can be distillation separation into volatile metals (Mg, Zn and Cd), low-volatile (Al, Mn Zr) rare earth elements. The may tracked based on phase diagrams where field boundaries vapor–liquid equilibrium are plotted. Due fact that Mg, Cd have comparable saturated vapor pressures, possibility Mg–Zn Mg–Cd systems using full state including melt–vapor transition were determined this work. these calculated partial values vapor, boiling point method, presented form temperature–concentration dependencies with indicated boundaries. (L + V) at atmospheric pressure (101.33 kPa) vacuum (1.33 kPa 0.7 kPa,) supposing implementation process. separate extraction zinc cadmium from was considered complete melt–steam transition. When considering binary Mg–Cd, it established is impossible one “evaporation–condensation” cycle 1.33 kPa. problem caused small size fields temperature, which suggests processes re-evaporation condensate previous stage. liquid alloys under conditions requires several repetitions In non-equilibrium conditions, real will require larger number conversions. This implies expediency joint evaporation use for additional charging magnesium, remainder distillation, such as Al, Mn, Zr elements concentrated, should directed preparation ligatures special magnesium-based alloys.

Although hydrofluoric acid (HF) surface treatment is known to enhance the joining of metals with polymers, there limited information on its effect AZ31 alloy and carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRPs) through laser-assisted metal plastic direct (LAMP). This study uses LAMP technique produce AZ31-CFRP joints. The process involves as-received AZ31, HF-pretreated thermally oxidized sheets. Furthermore, bonding strength joints prepared sheets examined ascertain combined HF thermal oxidation strength. microstructures, chemical interactions, mechanical performances are investigated under tensile shear loading. Various factors, such as bubble formation, CFRP resin decomposition, interlocking considerably affect joint Additionally, interactions between active species parts polar amide along carbonyl groups polymer play a significant role in improving Joints surface-pretreated show improvements
