Nanotechnology is at the forefront of scientific research and offers great prospects for development technology. As a type III-V semiconductor, GaSb materials exhibit numerous outstanding optical electrical characteristics that are very promising nonlinear device applications. In this study, electronic band structures theoretically calculated, its application in dissipative soliton fiber lasers validated. A thin film deposited on microfiber using magnetron sputtering deposition, morphology, chemical composition, structure, proposed microfiber-GaSb investigated. After incorporating it into an Er-doped laser, laser pulses readily obtained with fundamental frequency 43.5 MHz. With increasing pump power, could work mode-locking state. At power 570 mW, pulse width output measured to be 917 fs 49.75 separately. These results reveal can used as efficient saturable absorber, which will have potential applications ultrafast optics.
