Extracellular electron transfer (EET) is an important biological process in microbial physiology as found dissimilatory metal oxidation/reduction and interspecies syntrophy natural environments. EET also plays a critical role microorganisms relevant to environmental biotechnology metal-contaminated areas, corrosion, bioelectrochemical systems, anaerobic digesters.

The microbiologically influenced corrosion of a FeCoCrNiMo0.1 high-entropy alloy (HEA) by Pseudomonas aeruginosa was investigated. Compared to uncorroded samples in sterile medium, pitting found on HEA surfaces after 14 day-immersion inoculated medium. Electrochemical tests, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Auger electron demonstrated that the passive film weaken thinned P. biofilm. In presence biofilms, selective dissolution occurred HEA, particularly when organic nutrient insufficient. When reduced from 100% 10% amount dissolved iron increased 188.4 712.9 μg/L.
