ABSTRACT Early iterations of the metaverse have exposed serious flaws pertaining to user privacy and engagement with other users/entities. Users been able collude block movement an individual user, abuse demean them, violate their privacy. Such security may hamper widespread adoption metaverse. The bad experiences largely unregulated social networks, manifesting in fake profiles, sentiment manipulation through news potential law order problems, weighs heavily on future commercial success Amidst calls for tighter regulation media new platforms by national governments, platform designers would need address these existing loopholes priority. This article presents MetaPrism , a novel user‐defined personal policy governing interactions users entities environment. MetaPrism's unique integration deep learning‐based intrusion detection system (DL‐IDS) provides unprecedented combination autonomy capability real‐time threat detection. enables fine‐grained control over how engage including extent scope interactions. Beyond improving safety privacy, establishes scalable, flexible model that aligns emerging regulatory frameworks, ensuring ethical secure growth Our proposed approach also encompasses pressing Intrusion Detection System (IDS) virtual assistant, human‐computer interfaces, Internet Things (IoT) device‐enabled environments. By empowering comprehensive controls delivering reliable cyber detection, paves way broader trust thus assuages concerns large extent. Experimental results demonstrate DL‐IDS achieves classification accuracy 95.46% F1‐score 95.8%, threats such as DDoS, DoS, reconnaissance attacks. framework not only mitigates risks but fosters safer, user‐driven ecosystem, realizes its full transformative digital space.

Purpose The adoption of metaverse in manufacturing holds significant benefits, but there are several barriers to its seamless integration. This paper aims identify such and prioritize them a manner that allows industrial leaders strategize for smooth adoption. Design/methodology/approach In this study, we applied two-stage methods, first the identification validation through an empirical study Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). A purposive sampling technique snowball facilitated data collection from these expert sources. Through sampling, additional contacts working field were reached, resulting 235 possible respondents; survey yielded 104 completed responses. Thereafter, best-worst method (BWM) was used measure rank barriers. Findings results show two most critical “Lack security privacy” integration compatibility with existing systems.” Such findings inform industry specific recommendations structural changes, training programs, necessary technological investments collaborative efforts overcome Research limitations/implications work adds significantly academic discussion by prioritizing towards integrating technology manufacturing. addition, strategic methodology aids appraisal ranking successful also identifies key acknowledges other unexamined factors might be lurking background, as virtual economy, financial risks cross-border legal issues. Practical implications study’s conclusions cannot generalized sectors, thus indicating necessity carrying out comparative multi-sector future. Originality/value To best authors’ knowledge, on systematic prioritization adopting is original contribution authors.

Extended Reality (XR), encompassing Augmented (AR), Virtual (VR), and Mixed (MR), enables immersive experiences across various fields, including entertainment, healthcare, education. However, its data-intensive interactive nature introduces significant cybersecurity privacy challenges. This paper presents a detailed adversary model to identify threat actors attack vectors in XR environments. We analyze key risks, identity theft behavioral data leakage, which can lead profiling, manipulation, or invasive targeted advertising. To mitigate these we explore technical solutions such as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) for secure transmission, multi-factor biometric authentication, anonymization techniques, AI-driven anomaly detection real-time monitoring. A comparative benchmark evaluates solutions’ practicality, strengths, limitations applications. The findings emphasize the need holistic approach, combining robust measures with privacy-centric policies, ecosystems ensure user trust.
