Selecting the best site location for temporary housing (TH) is one of most critical decision-making processes in aftermath disasters. Many spatial variables and multi-criteria indicator problems are involved analysis. Incorrect treatment these components often led to failure previous post-disaster recovery programmes. Wrong decisions caused short- long-term negative impacts on environment people as well wasting capital spending. In this regard, research paper aims present a novel approach that helps decision makers select optimal locations consider sustainability-related by assessing numerous alternatives. This new model based combining knapsack algorithm integrated value sustainability assessment (MIVES) derive makes it possible objectively quantify indicators (economic, environmental, social aspects) satisfaction indices each (or set sites) terms TH location. The designed receive filter data from geographic information system (GIS). Using future programs believed increase stakeholders’ maximise associated with selection.

The interest of scholars in the temporal dimension post-disaster housing has grown past decade, but analytic focus primarily been around design and delivery more sustainable Temporary Housing solutions. However, addressing temporality promoting Building Back Better disaster recovery reconstruction also requires a better understanding regulatory organisational process which produces transitional city. Since strategic planning grows popularity as Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) paradigm, an analysis its application outcomes helps capture lessons to inform future assistance practices. To this end, paper reconstructs analyses Central Italy temporary supply process. It combines meta-analysis published documents business modelling uncover links between policy, society, space. results suggest that gaps (related multi-level governance, resource management) are significant explanatory factors for technical social clashes highlighted by analysis. is emphasised importance produce well-informed plans achieve DRR goals potential benefit adopting proposed approach leveraging capacity model simulate

The construction of temporary houses (THs) is one the first interventions to support displaced in emergency situations such as earthquakes or floods. In addition safety aspects and fast time, it necessary design THs able guarantee thermo-hygrometric comfort, responding defined energy performance requirements, using environmentally sustainable technologies materials. this regard, best strategy during a non-emergency period, that favors an in-depth study materials systems. frame agreement between Italian Civil Protection Department University Sannio, paper defines methodology highly performing TH solutions. innovative point work lies definition complete exhaustive method investigate several building-HVAC solutions considering minimum requirements. climate heterogeneity territory taken into consideration and, respond diversified family needs, different geometries are proposed for housing module. For them, four possible load-bearing structures (steel, wood, concrete brick) various traditional vertical horizontal opaque closures identified, with two types glazed systems, three HVAC photovoltaic panels. total 324 case analyzed, showing solution each size zone.
