This study reported an experimental of hybrid-self-centering connections (HSCCs) employing energy dissipation sequences. The dual self-centering mechanism the connection consisting post-tensioned (PT) steel strands and shape memory alloy (SMA) bolts provided driving force, sequences can be realized by friction dampers SMA bolts. An program five proof-of-concept was tested under cyclic loading scenarios. test results including hysteretic responses, strain gauge readings, force evolution in PT strands, strength stiffness, capability, ability were examined discussed. obvious trilinear feature accompanied excellent ability, moderate satisfactory ductility confirmed. In addition, encouraging repairability verified retests repaired specimens. Subsequently, finite element (FE) models developed to further examine behavior proposed connection. A design model enabling quantification multilinear moment-rotation responses good agreement between stiffness from data confirmed rationality model. analysis nonlinear spectral analyses effectiveness structures equipped with HSCC reducing acceleration response.
