The 2015 seismic events in Nepal highlighted critical challenges constructing earthquake-resilient, self-built stone masonry houses rural mountain areas. Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC), however, provided designs that failed to preserve the local architectural landscape craftsmanship while adding unfamiliar knowledge technology. To address shortcomings DUDBC model related architecture, structure, socio-economic concerns designing implementing post-earthquake houses, a need-based building development framework is required for standardized practice. This study proposes novel assess, design, implement house after disaster, consisting five stages: (1) post-disaster problem assessment, (2) need identification, (3) material selection, (4) design development, (5) validation implementation. Based on this framework, we proposed gabion construction technology two-story structures effectively mitigate such as logistic, resilience, aspects improving disaster resiliency specifically high-elevation areas Nepal. preserves values, enhances structural integrity, provides cost-effectiveness when compared with its peer models providing much-needed relief vulnerable community. resilient house, G-2.1, utilizes locally sourced materials craftsmanship, innovative ensures affordability facilitates transfer. contribution includes multi-objective gabions most suitable homes architecture conditions integrity safety.
