Preparation of Geopolymeric Materials from Industrial Kaolins, with Variable Kaolinite Content and Alkali Silicates Precursors

In
the
present
work,
development
of
geopolymeric
materials
with
Na
or
K
based
on
industrial
kaolin
samples,
variable
kaolinite
content
and
alkaline
silicates,
is
studied.
XRF,
XRD,
FTIR
SEM-EDS
have
been
used
as
characterization
techniques.
Three
ceramic
two
from
Algeria
one
Charente
(France),
considered.
particular,
chemical
mineralogical
revealed
elements
distinct
Si
Al,
pure
secondary
minerals.
Metakaolinite
was
obtained
by
grinding
sieving
raw
at
80
μm
then
thermal
activation
750
°C
for
1
h.
This
metakaolinite
has
a
base
material
to
obtain
geopolymers,
using
this
purpose
different
formulations
silicates
NaOH
KOH
Si/K
molar
ratios.
The
formation
hydroxylation
polycondensation
characterized
Si/Al
ratios,
depending
original
content,
demonstrated.
Sodium
carbonates
detected
XRD
FTIR,
confirmed
SEM-EDS,
in
these
geopolymer
being
products
carbonation.

RESUMO
Os
geopolímeros
são
materiais
que
apresentam
alta
resistência
inicial
à
compressão,
além
de
apresentarem
altas
temperaturas,
a
sulfatos
e
ácidos.
Porém,
é
um
material
cerâmico
comportamento
frágil.
Para
compensar
tal
fragilidade,
diversos
tipos
fibras
têm
sido
utilizadas.
No
presente
trabalho,
compósitos
geopoliméricos
reforçados
com
sisal
foram
produzidos
ensaiados
tração
direta.
Foram
avaliadas
duas
diferentes
distribuições
contínuas
alinhadas:
distribuídas
longitudinalmente
45°,
em
ambos
os
casos
utilizadas
uma
fração
volumétrica
3%
fibras.
O
deformação
fissuração
analisados
pela
técnica
Correlação
Imagem
Digital
(CID).
resultados
encontrados
comparados
outros
presentes
na
literatura,
demonstraram
similaridade
estudos
analisados.
apresentaram
strain-hardening
formação
múltiplas
fissuras,
o
aumento
da
após
primeira
fissura.
