Biomass serves as a promising renewable and sustainable feedstock for energy production through thermochemical conversion. It can be transformed into biofuels by means of pyrolysis. Among these methods, the pyrolytic poly-generation biomass, novel biomass thermal conversion technology, concurrently produce three valuable products, namely biochar, bio-oil, combustible gas, without generating any byproducts. In contrast, conventional processes, such carbonization liquefaction gasification syngas, combustion heat, only yield single have limited efficiency, give rise to Clearly, holds significant advantages over processes. Nevertheless, process its products are remarkably influenced numerous factors, including raw properties, pretreatment operating parameters, catalysts. This article reviews processing parameters technology poly-generation, also explores future research areas, with aim identifying gaps promoting industrial implementation.
