Abstract Electrochromism, a well‐defined phenomenon of bias‐induced reversible color switching, has led to real applications in several smart devices including windows and self‐powered batteries solar panels. For these applications, the electrochromic (EC) materials need be integrated as solid‐state devices. Deciphering ways recreate conventional device requires understanding basic structure its working. Multicolor display has gradually become a sought-after trend for electrochromic devices due to its broadened application scope. Meanwhile, the advantages of inorganic such as stable electrochemical performance and good energy storage ability also have great attraction in practical production applications.
