As global climate change continues, drought episodes have become increasingly frequent. Studying plant stress tolerance is urgently needed to ensure food security. The common ice one of the model halophyte plants for biology research. This study aimed investigate functions a newly discovered transcription factor, Homeobox 7 (HB7), from in response stress. An efficient Agrobacterium-mediated transformation method was established plant, where ectopic McHB7 expression may be sustained four weeks. overexpression (OE) displayed tolerance, and activities redox enzymes chlorophyll content OE were higher than wild type. Quantitative proteomics revealed 1910 495 proteins significantly changed leaves compared type under control conditions, respectively. Most increased involved tricarboxylic acid cycle, photosynthesis, glycolysis, pyruvate metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation pathways. Some found participate abscisic signaling or response. Furthermore, levels with bind promoter motifs Early Responsive Dehydration genes acid-responsive genes, protein–protein interaction analysis candidate responsive stresses hormones (e.g., acid). To conclude, contribute enhance through signaling.
