Abstract In the context of global climate change, carbon capture and storage (CCS) has become a direct effective measure for reducing greenhouse gases emission. However, injecting CO 2 into subsurface reservoirs may pose risks related to geological hazards. Therefore, monitoring variations in underground temperature fields, strain vibration fields induced by injection is essential predicting controlling Distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) technology, with its unique features, enables real‐time temperature, strain, vibration. By deploying (FO) cables inside wellbores, DFOS can be used effectively multiple response parameters. This paper reviews applications technology sequestration. The chapter covers aspects such as literature review, principles optics, representative projects.
