Four new Ni( ii ) coordination polymers (1–4) have been successfully synthesized using 5,5′-(ethene-1,2-diyl)diisophthalic acid (H 4 L) and different N-donor ancillary ligands. Furthermore, the magnetic properties of 1–4 were investigated in detail.

The self‐assembly of the π‐conjugated 1,4‐di(1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)benzene (dib) and 4,4′‐di(1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)‐1,1′‐biphenyl (dibp) ligands together with 4′‐(3,4‐ dicarboxylphenyloxy)‐4‐biphenylcarboxylic acid (H 3 L) reacts metal Zn (II) salts to construct two new coordination polymers (CPs), namely [Zn (dib)(HL)(H 2 O)] ( 1 ) (dibp)(HL)] ). Fluorescence measurements reveal that could display a highly sensitive fluorescence response toward Hg 2+ nitrofurazone (NFZ). investigations suggest are promising multi‐responsive sensing materials for detecting NFZ through quenching (turn‐off). limits detection ions 0.221 μM 0.124 μM, while 0.757 0.960 , respectively. Interestingly, these selective processes can even be completed by reusable CPs detected naked eyes. Hirshfeld surfaces fingerprint plots extensively used investigate intermolecular interactions, which play crucial role in creating diverse supramolecular designs compared.
