Abstract Background: Systemic inflammation is a contributor to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, such as congestive heart failure (CHF), coronary artery disease (CAD), and stroke. response index (SIRI), simple measure systemic inflammation, calculated using absolute monocyte, neutrophil, lymphocyte counts. Whether SIRI can be used screening test for diseases across different age gender groups remains unclear. This retrospective analysis National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data aimed explore selected groups. Methods: study analyzed complete blood count (CBC-L) medical conditions (MCQ-L) datasheets NHANES 2021-2023. was CBC-L monocytes ×absolute neutrophils ÷ lymphocytes; quartiles were calculated. Prevalences CHF, CAD, angina, attack, stroke MCQ-L; their prevalence burden also according quartiles. Considering independent predictor, Receiver Operating Curve (ROC) performed each determine area under ROC curve (AUC) clinically useful values. Results: A total 5757 participants, who had available both MCQ-L, analyzed. Overall, self-reported prevalences 4.2%, 5.4%, 2.3%, 4.3%, 4.5%, respectively. follows: Q1: <0.7; Q2: 0.7−1.04, Q3: 1.04−1.54; Q4: >1.54. Prevalence increased significantly from Q1 Q4 (particularly steeply Q4); instance, CAD follows; 2.2%; 3.6%; 5.6%; 10.3%; p=0.000). The participants in Q4, with SIRI>1.54, highest disease, ranging 37.3% 47.4% CAD. However, values associated old (age>59) males. showed that significant predictor all five AUC 0.598 0.673 For close 0.6 2.2 90% sensitivity specificity, Conclusion: suggests high SIRI, particularly >1.54, diseases. Certain reach up (SIRI=0.6) or specificity (SIRI=2.2). These estimates could help inform augment interventions, especially subsets older individuals men.
