Metals are integral components of the natural environment, and their presence in food supply is inevitable complex. While essential metals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, copper crucial for various physiological functions must be consumed through diet, others, like lead, mercury, cadmium, toxic even at low concentrations pose serious health risks. This study comprehensively analyzes presence, importance, consequences chain. We explore pathways which enter supply, distribution across different types, associated implications. By examining current regulatory standards maximum allowable levels metals, we highlight importance ensuring safety protecting public health. Furthermore, this research underscores need continuous monitoring management metal content food, especially global agricultural production practices evolve. Our findings aim to inform dietary recommendations, fortification strategies, policies, ultimately contributing safer more nutritionally balanced diets.
