Abstract The build-up of synthetic dyes in the environment and aquatic ecology is a significant environmental issue due to their inability break down naturally. overuse chemical fungicides also poses threat accumulation fostering fungal resistance. Hence, study was conducted detect antifungal properties photocatalytic activity greenly synthesized iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) prepared using Hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract. biogenic IONPs showed highest against rhodamine B dye at concentration 4.0 mg/ml. demonstrated effective Penicillium digitatum Aspergillus niger strains, with relative inhibition percentages mycelial growth being higher than those metalaxyl + mancozeb fungicide 800 ppm concentration. efficient suggest potential use as safe substitutes for commercial fungicides.
