Each patient underwent four sessions using Lumenis M22 (Lumenis Ltd., Yokneam, Israel) MGX three-week intervals. This 90 eyes from 45 MGD. The mean age was 52.3 ± 16.1 years (range, 20-75 years), 53.3% (24/45) were female. Compared the baseline, all clinical symptoms signs significantly improved after MGX. All parameters obtained an analysis system (OQAS: Visiometrics, Castelldefels, Spain) have over baseline (p < 0.001).In MGD, DED.

The conventional carbonization process for synthesizing hard carbons (HCs) requires high-temperature furnace operations exceeding 1000 °C, leading to excessive energy consumption and lengthy processing times, which necessitates the exploration of more efficient synthesis methods. This study demonstrates rapid preparation HC anodes using intense pulsed light (IPL)-assisted photothermal without prolonged complex typical traditional A composite film microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is carbonized at high temperatures in less than 1 min. SWCNTs efficiently absorbed energy, enabling ultrafast heating eliminating need prolonged, high-energy furnace-based processes. IPL-assisted exhibited excellent electrochemical performance, with an initial desodiation capacity 260.4 mAh g⁻¹anode 97.5% retention after 200 cycles. These results are comparable those achieved processes, such as carbonizing 1200 validating effectiveness Additionally, surface structural analyses revealed development pseudo-graphitic domains, crucial enhanced sodium-ion storage. research highlights a viable, time-efficient, energy-saving alternative methods, offering sustainable pathway large-scale production future battery technologies.

Purpose This study aimed to investigate changes in dry eye disease (DED) parameters and tear film lipid layer distribution after intensive pulse light (IPL) combined with meibomian gland expression (MGX) patients dysfunction (MGD). Methods retrospective included 218 diagnosed MGD who underwent IPL MGX. Various DED parameters, including thickness (LLT), were measured using a Placido disc analyzer slit lamp. Inferior corneal images quantified divided into upper, lower, nasal, temporal quadrants, further subdivision six parts from top bottom Python. Results The ocular surface index, expressibility, quality scores significantly improved three treatment sessions. Slit-lamp-measured also improved, excluding the fluorescein-stained meniscus height. Redness nasal limbal bulbar conjunctivae decreased. mean LLT tended increase treatment. upper half of images, but not lower half, increased significantly, difference between two halves decreasing 34.46 ± 15.73 30.27 14.63 nm (p = 0.031). When vertical was analyzed by equal bottom, average decreased uppermost segment Conclusion MGX reduced lipids reducing stasis. Thus, is useful tool for analyzing MGD.

Objectives: To compare the long-term efficacy and safety of intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments using a 590-nm an acne filter. Methods: In this prospective, randomized, paired-eye trial study, 30 patients with moderate severe meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) were followed up for at least one month after their last treatment. Group A received IPL treatment filter, type notch filter that blocks wavelengths between 600 800 nm, allowing to emit 400–600 nm 800–1200 nm. B 590 cut-off below Clinical parameters, including tear osmolarity, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 expression, break-up time, ocular surface staining scores, Schirmer’s test I, lid margin telangiectasia MG expressibility/secretion Ocular Surface Disease Index measured baseline, 1, 6, 12 months Results: linear mixed model, significant time effects on all clinical except MMP-9 grades I results, observed within each group. However, interactions points (baseline, 6 months, months) groups (Group A, B) not significant. The generalized estimating equation model showed no interaction positivity; however, effect positivity was in decrease when compared baseline months. Conclusions: modality MGD demonstrated therapeutic year under strictly controlled self-administration other treatments. is promising option reducing patients.

Purpose: Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is a global health disorder, which can have deleterious effect on visual function and quality of life. Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy has been shown to ameliorate MGD. However, the optimal candidates who would benefit most from IPL remain undetermined. Therefore, we aimed in this study identify clinical factors associated with favorable outcomes patients MGD after therapy. Methods: This single-center retrospective included refractory treated course combined meibomian expression, follow-up period 6 months. The outcome measures were standardized patient evaluation eye dryness (SPEED) score, tear breakup time, lid telangiectasia, meibum quality, expressibility. Good responders defined as those at least 1-point reduction SPEED score 1-grade decrease Data analyzed using t test, chi-square binary logistic regression analysis. Results: A total 90 eyes (good responders: 48 eyes, nonresponders: 42 eyes) included. Univariate analysis revealed that good had higher baseline than nonresponders. Multivariate showed more severe symptoms, inspissated meibum, better expressibility, milder degree telangiectasia independently response. Conclusions: Our findings suggest worse poorer or less obstruction are likely response

Purpose: To review the indications and efficacy of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) application in treatment Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Its main purpose is to describe its physiology, efficacy, indications, adverse effects. Patients Methods: A two database (PubMed, EMBASE) search was performed from July 2017 2022 using MeSH terms ("Intense Light" AND ("Meibomian Dysfunction" OR "Dry Eye"). We included randomized studies systematic reviews with meta-analysis. Exclusion criteria were non-randomized trials, enrolling non-MGD dry eye disease, other works older than 5 years. Results: Current literature shows that IPL an effective safe modality for severe eye. Available evidence improvement symptoms objective indicators, such as noninvasive breakup time, thickness lipid layer, Schirmer test. However, our concluded beneficial effects may lose some at 6-months after initial session, subsequent sessions be required. Thus, should not considered first-line therapy MGD but instead adjuvant option standard care. The optimal remains unknown tailored according each patient's phenotype, clinician's experience, available technology. There down-regulate pro-inflammatory markers (such interleukin (IL) 6, IL17a, IL-1) Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). Conclusion: a multifactorial disease seems promising modality. Despite this, more needed study benefits – since this emerging technology, it expected increase comparative following years, longer follow-up periods, which enable precise conclusions about Keywords: meibomian gland dysfunction, intense pulsed light, low-level light therapy, near-infrared ocular surface index
