Material depletion, environmental degradation, and cultural revitalization pose significant challenges to heritage conservation in China. Within the context of restoration, principles circular economy (CE)—including R1 (Reduce), R2 (Reuse), R3 (Recycle)—can provide a structured framework for sustainable interventions. By prioritizing resource efficiency, minimizing waste generation, repurposing materials, CE strategies support preservation while mitigating impact. This study explores role material upcycling (SHC) tandem with narratives. examines core factors affecting restoration practice through lens theory theory. The research design adopts mixed methods whereby quantitative web surveys are conducted among practitioners complemented qualitative case studies from CE-based intervention projects identifies five independent variables—upcycling stakeholder engagement, economic viability, narrative revitalization—with sustainability-driven innovation acting as mediating factor. Preliminary findings indicate that enhances longevity minimizes expenses promoting social acceptance practices engagement. Revitalizing narratives historical continuity preserving intangible heritage. results interventions positively influenced SHC, mediator. With this, it was concluded introducing would promote sustainability, culture-building resilience. Architectural heritage is recognized globally as an important resource for sustainable urban regeneration. The adaptive reuse of 'buildings control and reform' (BCR) such leprosariums has increasingly attracted academic discussion, the conflict between segregated nature BCR significance in context development become a key point discussion. However, there still lack research on how buildings have been selected new functions order to achieve these aims. Therefore, this study attempted establish functional decision-making model BCR. Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM), Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Sensitivity Analysis were used filter out with highest priority, taking Macau- Nossa Senhora Village example. This constructed framework consisting 6 dimensions 17 criteria. It also identified criteria under each dimension. paper aims provide insights into theoretical practical architectural by integrating conservation.

Abstract The conservation of historical buildings is essential for safeguarding architectural heritage, facilitating urban development, and promoting sustainable economic growth. This research investigates the adaptive reuse industrial heritage in Hong Kong, focusing on its contributions to practice redevelopment. Employing hedonic pricing model, this study quantitatively analyses impact property prices, revealing significant imperatives with developmental goals. Positioning Kong as a paradigmatic example, uses comprehensive analysis 34,892 transaction records collected from January 2010 September 2022 across 23 subdistricts offers critical insights into challenges opportunities within dynamic high-density landscapes. findings indicate that approximately 75% variability prices can be attributed variables at 1% confidence level. Key parameters, including gross floor area (GFA), age, level, demonstrate nonlinear relationships designated conservation. data suggest properties GFA up 10,989 square feet an age 41.5 years are considered best preserving values. Other planning such provisions car parks proximity public transportation interchanges, also have positive external impacts prices. These provide empirical evidence regarding influence serving valuable resource policy-makers aiming promote development effective allocation. By integrating strategies, underscores vital role preserved play fostering vibrant, environments.

Ting, Tai, Lou, and Ge are types of ancient buildings that represent traditional Chinese architecture culture. They primarily constructed using mortise tenon joints, complemented by brick stone foundations, showcasing architectural craftsmanship. However, research aimed at conserving, inheriting, rejuvenating these is limited, despite their status as Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units China. Therefore, the aim this study was to reveal spatial distribution across China, well factors driving differences in distribution. Tourist experiences building popularity were also explored.
