This research evaluates impacts of net metering on residential photovoltaic (PV) adoption in Palestine, focusing PV systems ranging from 2 to 5 kWp. The analysis considers key factors such as energy generation, self‐consumption, self‐sufficiency, and economic viability, with coverage meeting an annual demand 6378 kWh. Under the current net‐metering scheme, 10% discounted exported energy, unused is forfeited at year end. kWp system generated 3405 kWh annually, achieving a self‐consumption rate 63% covering 35% household needs. Conversely, produced 8514 but exhibited lower 31% self‐sufficiency 43%. In terms performance, delivered highest internal return (IRR) 23.60% payback period (DPP) 4.95 years. Meanwhile, 3 4 demonstrated IRRs 23.1% 22.76%, DPPs 5.07 5.15 years, respectively. Although had higher present value $5,626.8 compared $2968.2 for system, latter remained more efficient IRR 23.60%, vs. 22.76% suggesting that offers greater overall profit, yields better returns investment. Nevertheless, despite generating most lowest 16.72% longest DPP 7.20 years due credits Therefore, study recommends households install closely aligned their consumption maximize self‐consumption.
