Abstract In Western China, the mountains are high, canyons deep, and wind field features complex. For large span bridge in reservoir area, coupled with fluctuation of water level, complexity site is further aggravated. The numerical tunnel can be used to investigate effect level change on mountain field. However, due scale effect, man-made cliffs validity verification, analysis accuracy remains verified. Taking a long-span across mountainous area as engineering background, this study systematically compares influence transition curve terrain range, verifies rationality simulation through measurement, explores filling average characteristics site. results show that strongly affected by local terrain, direction basically same strike gully, location contraction section, canyon negative attack angle significant. After impounding site, obviously, weaken obviously.
