Based on the panel data of 277 cities in China from 2011 to 2018, this paper constructs digital economy index and green efficiency index. The research found following: first, has significantly improved region. Second, a greater impact eastern region large than central western regions small cities. Third, technological innovation is an important way for improve level economy.

The application of last-generation spatial data modelling, integrating Earth Observation, population, economic and other spatially explicit data, enables insights into the sustainability global urbanisation processes with unprecedented detail, consistency, international comparability. In this study, land use efficiency indicator, as developed in Sustainable Development Goals, is assessed globally for first time at level Functional Urban Areas (FUAs). Each FUA includes city its commuting zone inferred from statistical modelling available data. FUAs represent area influence each urban centre. Hence, analysis consumption within their boundary has significance fields planning policy analyses well many research areas. We utilize boundaries more than 9,000 to estimate between 1990 2015, by using population built-up extracted Global Human Settlement Layer. This shows how, observed period, low-income countries South evolved rates growth surpassing ones consumption. However, almost all regions globe, half improved recent years (2000-2015) respect previous decade (1990-2000). Our study concludes that expansion areas reducing compactness settlements, settlements located do not display higher those outside FUAs.

The digital economy (DE) plays a crucial role in green innovation (GI) and development as new economic form. Based on the panel data of 274 Chinese prefecture-level cities from 2011 to 2019, this paper constructs comprehensive DE index conducts two-way fixed effect regression explore its impact GI capabilities examines mediating industrial structure transformation upgrading. research results show that: (1) has significantly improved capability cities. (2) In terms space, ability eastern outperform that central western regions. However, is almost saturated slow, while faster. (3) significant promoting Although region positive impact, it negligible. urban scale, large, medium, small positively affects effect. (4) upgrading mediate relationship between GI. above conclusions, relevant suggestions for improving around must be devised.
