Land consolidation is a crucial strategy for optimizing land use structure and ensuring cultivated security food safety. Since 2019, Zhejiang Province has been piloting exploring Whole-Region Comprehensive Consolidation (WRCLC). However, there remains an insufficient understanding of the feasibility WRCLC in its potential synergy with other policies. This study utilizes panel data from 707 townships spanning 2013 to 2022. By categorizing into two dimensions—quantity quality—this employs double machine learning approach evaluate impact policies on township security. The results indicate that implementing significantly enhances both quantity quality land. A heterogeneity analysis reveals particularly effective improving non-major grain-producing areas low economic development areas. Furthermore, examining policy synergies indicates agricultural mechanization industry integration work well conjunction WRCLC, thereby enhancing rural tourism improves without effectively increasing quantity.

Cultivated land is an important material carrier providing multiple supplies for production, living, and ecological benefits. As area of cultivated subject to high levels human activity during urbanization, the functional level structure suburban have been strongly impacted. In this study, we took in Nanchang City as research constructed a multi-functional indicator system context ecology, landscape culture. Using improved CRITIC-entropy weight method optimal parameter geographical detector model, examined evolution from 2012 2022 its response mechanisms urbanization. The results showed that (1) multifunctionality peri-urban shows general decreasing trend, with decline gradually increase distance central urban area. (2) contrast, few areas away city small medium increase. function trend 2012–2022 due urbanization level. However, production functions increased slightly, whereas cultural decreased significantly. (3) impact on multifunctional transformation complex process largely shaped by economic influenced multitude factors. Therefore, management policies must fully mobilize socioeconomic resources each region.

As the indispensable basic resource of agricultural production, cultivated land has always carried important mission maintaining food stability, promoting rural economic development, and ecological balance. However, in application, there is often a conflict between multiple functions limited ability to perform functions. Therefore, this paper uses hot spot analysis, IUEMS model, InVEST Pearson correlation coefficients self-organizing feature maps (SOFMs) explore multifunctional trade-offs synergistic relationships Hexi Corridor at grid scale zoning optimization scheme. The results revealed that from 2000 2020, production social security maintained high level continued rise, spots exhibited stable pattern “central southeast concentration”. function performance relatively weak, are concentrated mainly southeast, whereas landscape view recreational as whole show trend gradual recovery after weakening. In terms mutual relationships, significant synergies functions, other complex changeable. Production coordinated spatial distribution pattern. Production, security, dominated by trade-offs. recreation space. Through map divided into four functional areas: production-dominant areas, agriculture balanced development management objectives proposed. This study can provide useful lessons references for use planning similar areas.

The rising number of disturbances caused by natural hazards, epidemics, and international conflicts seriously threatens global agriculture food systems. In order to combat the increasing uncertainty, Chinese government proposed a "dual circulation" strategy, which puts forward new requirement promoting self-sufficiency. Among various categories, grain serves as cornerstone for sustaining human life during public crises. Guangdong Province is one most economically developed highly densely populated regions in China; therefore, it faces significant pressure enhance security. This study investigates spatial temporal patterns rate self-sufficiency (RSSG) at county levels from 2014 2023. findings reveal following: (1) rice remains predominant crop, with its sown area production consistently accounting over 75%; (2) RSSG 28.14% on average, lower than governmental goal 30%; (3) has regional disparities distinct agglomeration patterns; (4) scenario simulations indicate that yield improvement loss reduction have potential promote 34.14%. Based research findings, this paper proposes following policy recommendations: prioritize farmland preservation implement "storing land" strategy ensure supply; adopt advanced agricultural technologies under technology" improve yield; reduce strengthening disaster prevention, improving storage management, enhancing efficiency; strengthen interdepartmental coordination. integrated application these strategies will help self-sufficiency, security, contribute achievement national security goals.

This study aims to systematically examine the concept and characteristics of medium–low yield farmland (MLYF), identify key factors influencing coordination between soil carbon sequestration (SCS) production capacity (PC) in MLYF, develop an evaluation indicator system (EIS) provide innovative approaches for transforming MLYF enhance food security emission reduction capabilities. Focusing on synergistic improvement SCS PC this research employs theoretical analysis, systematic inference, inductive deduction analyze relationships these construct EIS. The findings reveal that (1) is characterized by inherent limitations suboptimal management practices, resulting low grain but significant potential improvement. (2) A positive correlation exists organic (SOC) content crop yield, with demonstrating substantially greater than high-yield fields. (3) On basis science principles, affecting enhancement productivity include climatic conditions, properties, biological factors. (4) comprehensive “Demand-Function-Dimension-Element-Indicator” framework was established, incorporating EIS designed national, provincial, city/county levels address requirements across various scales, thereby facilitating quality contributes understanding transformation, offering valuable insights ensuring national achieving goals.
