The
metacommunity

Aim
This
study
aims
to
contribute
elucidating
the
importance
of
experimental
research
on
freshwater
zooplankton
communities
in
Brazil
through
a
scientometric
analysis.
Methods
Web
Science,
SciELO,
and
Scopus
databases
were
used
compile
249
scientific
papers
published
between
1978
2023.
The
extracted
data
included
year
publication,
geographical
location,
experiment
characteristics
(type,
scale,
duration),
species
or
taxa
studied,
topics.
Quantitative
qualitative
syntheses
performed
provide
systematic
understanding
studies
zooplankton.
Results
analysis
revealed
significant
increase
number
over
time,
with
higher
concentration
Southeastern
region
Brazil.
Laboratory
experiments
conducted

frequency
than
field
experiments,
