Consumer
attitudes
and
behaviour

Abstract
Microplastics,
an
emerging
pollutant,
have
garnered
widespread
attention
due
to
potential
repercussions
on
human
health
and
the
environment.
Given
critical
role
of
seafood
in
food
security,
growing
concerns
about
microplastics
might
be
detrimental
meeting
future
global
demand.
This
study
employs
a
discrete
choice
experiment
investigate
Chilean
consumers'
preferences
for
technology
aimed
at
mitigating
microplastic
levels
mussels.
Using
between-subjects
design
with
information
treatments,
we
examined
impact
informing
consumers
environmental
effects

pollution
their
valuation
technology.

that

consumers’
willingness
