Changes in land use/land cover (LULC) can impact water yield (WY) by altering the structural layout and functions of terrestrial ecosystems. Therefore, to ensure regional economic ecosystem sustainability, it is critical investigate correlation between LULC change WY. The GMOP-PLUS-InVEST (GPI) coupling model based on gray multi-objective optimization model, patch-generating use simulation integrated valuation services trade-offs was used this study. Coastal realignment is the procedure of repositioning or removing coastal defense structures to restore tidal flooding and facilitate development intertidal ecosystems in a previously reclaimed area from sea. A key policy objective increase ecosystem services provided by thereby contribute human well-being. However, social response often negative, raising question as what extent communities living nearby project locations recognize, value benefit goods restored ecosystems. In this study, we examine public perceptions gains, losses trade-offs associated with realignment. We hereby focus on three case study Southwest delta, Netherlands. Questionnaires were administered villages collected data (N = 261) analyzed using random forest regression models. notable outcome that local consider interventions decrease rather than availability services. This points discrepancy between how viewed perspective community perspective. Changes cultural found have highest impact level support for realignment, while importance attached provisioning, regulating supporting was notably lower. consequence, support, it will be essential minimize loss services, better yet, find ways through instance creating opportunities recreation tourism.

Socio-cultural dimensions and values in maritime spatial planning (MSP) are gaining momentum worldwide especially the European Union (EU), since it is acknowledged that they “missing layer” of plans (MSPlans). These partly explored through cultural ecosystem services (CES). Coastal marine CES refer to benefits humans derive from coastal environments recreational, artistic, spiritual, educational terms. They reflect ways which ecosystems contribute human well-being, identity, interactions with nature. The research question how map assess coastal/marine integrate them MSPlans. Thus, this systematic review sheds light on methodological technical issues mapping assessment provides guidance incorporate MSP for future research. Publications dealing aspects were examined an extra focus participatory approaches. Initially, 199 articles identified, 50 ultimately eligible analysis. Papers concentrated Atlantic, whilst their scope was either local or regional. A large number consider contribution efficient management rather than achieving integrated coordinated MSP. Social mixed approaches met most often, Also, non-monetary valuation prevailing, a multitude techniques, tools, statistical software used. In cases, distribution relation environmental, socio-economic, demographic factors examined. This article concludes effective integration into crucial creating prospects more sustainable inclusive approach well-being communities both currently generations. knowledge should become “property” planners.

Cultural Ecosystem Services (CESs), as non-material benefits and well-being provided by ecosystems to humans, possess the ability bridge nature human society interpret their complex interrelationships. Coastal areas are regions with concentrated activities, where coastal zones often subject development, pollution, degradation. Compared other ecosystems, face greater pressures threats, cultural services they provide more vulnerable. Research on ecosystem needs consider vulnerability find ways protect restore functions. Therefore, this paper explores intrinsic logical system feasibility of guiding natural resource management enhancing through CESs, discussing related research data acquisition, method analysis, perceptual application. Based this, analyzes development trends CESs in from aspects such biodiversity, human–nature interaction processes, heritage conservation, local economic community management. Finally, it proposes advancing in-depth perspectives integrating multi-source data, interdisciplinary incorporating into policy making, providing theoretical support for systematic study rational utilization sustainable development.
