This study aims to assess feedwater, brine, and drinking water quality related eight full-scale Egyptian seawater desalination plants. Collected records from plants on the Mediterranean Red Seas were monthly analyzed identify different physical, chemical, biological parameters during 2022. Statistical analysis indices (WQIs) approaches applied evaluate various states based available international guidelines. Analyzed properties showed compliance with most operating permissible limits except for high concentrations of turbidity, fats, oils, greases, total bacteria in one plant, iron, manganese, silica at another plant. The measured Weighted Arithmetic WQI classified 71% 100% as having ''Excellent" rank according standard World Health Organization Water Quality Standard, respectively. However, 65% 52% projected into "good" Canadian Council Ministers Environment same results indicate that feed intake type location a plant can optimize its performance efficiency, minimize contamination sources, mitigate potential environmental impacts brine.

Seawater contamination is a global challenge due to its hazardous effects on marine organisms and human health. Twenty-three surface seawater samples were collected from the Al Lith intertidal area along Saudi Red Sea coast evaluate ecological risks document potential sources of Cr, Cd, Fe, Zn, Pb. Contamination factor (CF), degree (Cd), water quality index (WQI), heavy metal pollution (HPI), as well multivariate tools applied. The average concentrations HMs (μg/L) had following order: Zn (6.616) > Pb (0.284) Cd Cr (0.268) Fe (0.197). CF results showed moderate with low However, 26.09% considerable Cd. Average values revealed HMs, while 17.39% contamination. HPI indicated medium seawater, 13 reported high pollution. higher in characterized by particularly Zn. Correlation matrix principal component analysis suggested anthropogenic for mostly industrial agricultural effluents, landfilling, domestic wastewater, apart their natural sources.
