Air samples were collected at the Lianhu (urban) and Yanta (semi-urban) regions between January 2020 December 2023 to determine concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Xi'an, which is an important tourist city China. The concentration PAHs was ascertained using liquid chromatography. Σ16PAHs Xi'an 0.13-105.02 ng/m3, while for sampling ng/m3 0.34-82.64 respectively. with 4-5 rings predominant pollutants mainly from coal combustion automobile exhaust. Risks through inhalation three groups, adult males, females, children, estimated. incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) value local adults children less than 10-6, considered be a safe level. However, ILCR relatively close minimum threshold (10-6), it still needs highly valued.

To investigate the pollution characteristics of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) indoors and outdoors their influencing factors, PM 2.5 samples were systematically collected from both environments in Jinan during summer autumn seasons. During observation period, concentration ∑ 19PAHs was 18.57 ± 10.50 ng/m 3 23.79 16.13 outdoors. Most PAHs exhibited indoor-to-outdoor (I/O) ratios less than 1, indicating that indoor primarily derived infiltration outdoor sources. Correlation analysis underscored significant influence temperature on concentrations I/O PAHs. By utilizing diagnostic principal component (PCA), vehicle emissions identified as predominant source Our study found toxic equivalents benzo[a]pyrene (TEQ BaP ) values exceeded European Commission’s standard 1 , with at 2.78 3.57 . Moreover, total incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR Total associated exposure to -bound surpassed acceptable level 10E-6, potential adverse health effects. These results underscore urgent necessity for more stringent regulatory measures reduce PAH emissions. Additionally, our findings provide valuable insights into how environmental factors shape relationship between
