This study presents the synthesis of a CuO-TiO2–saponite ternary nanocomposite via hydrothermal method, designed to efficiently remove bromocresol green dye. Characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy, confirmed significant interactions between metal oxide nanoparticles clay mineral matrix. Diffuse reflectance photoluminescence analyses revealed narrow band gap surface defects, such as oxygen vacancies, enhancing material’s photocatalytic properties. Under UV irradiation, achieved 83% discoloration dye within 150 min. The inhibitor studies identified hydroxyl superoxide radicals key species in degradation mechanism. work underscores potential clay-mineral-based nanocomposites, where minerals function both structural support enhancers semiconductor’s activity.

In this study, varying percentages of dysprosium (Dy) doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized via a green chemistry approach employing the co-precipitation method. The effect dopant concentrations (1%, 3%, and 5%) was studied with help various structural, morphological, optical studies. elemental composition, morphological properties comprehensively investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy dispersive (EDX), diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), field emission scanning (FESEM). EDX confirmed presence zinc, oxygen, in samples, while XPS analysis indicated Dy +3 oxidation state all dysprosium-doped (Dy-ZnO) nanoparticles. XRD done Rietveld refinement χ2 value 1.91 for 3% Dy-ZnO 1.56 5% NPs agglomerated flower-like morphology observed FESEM images. UV absorption studies displayed red shift maxima increasing Dy3+ concentration, indicating improved light capacity enhanced photocatalytic activity. Remarkably, decoloration efficiency novacron brown reached 90% Dy-ZnONPs Dy. This research highlights promising potential as efficient photocatalysts environmental remediation applications, particularly textile dyes.
