ABSTRACT Embryonic development is highly sensitive to oxidative stress, which can disrupt homeostasis. A strategy for mitigating stress induced by gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) involves the of functionalized with phytoantioxidants through green chemistry methods, also enhances bioavailability these antioxidants. In this study, environmentally friendly AuNPs were synthesized using curcumin (AuNPs‐C), characterized a spherical shape, uniform size, and diameter 7.2 ± 1.2 nm. The effects AuNPs‐C on in Drosophila melanogaster (Canton‐S strain) during embryonic investigated, focusing antioxidant defenses, damage, morphological changes gastrointestinal tract. Exposure eggs 50–200 μg/mL had no effect hatching rates or pupal/adult development, eclosion remaining above 50%. did not elevate reactive oxygen species levels induce lipid protein oxidation larvae exposed 200 μg/mL. Oxidized products malondialdehyde (MDA) remained comparable those control group (70 3 μM chloramine‐T eq 0.8 0.1 nM MDA eq, respectively). Although affect catalase activity glutathione content, it reduced superoxide dismutase 67% 6%. Additionally, cause any damage tract alter gut permeability third‐instar larvae. This study offers deeper understanding how influence defense mechanisms animal provides basis assessing safety phytoantioxidant‐functionalized vivo.
