In this study, three reactors were established with anaerobic plug-flow times of 1.5 hours, 1 hour, and 0.5 hours. The results indicated that the time hour constructed favorable "feast- famine" period ratio, promoting enrichment microorganisms stored utilized internal carbon source, such as Phosphate Glycogen Accumulating Organisms (PAO GAO). This resulted in formation granular sludge both short granulation structural stability. contrast, shortening feed to hours was detrimental growth GAO, leading slow granularization aerobic sludge. influent h leads starvation poor stability particle structure.
