Abstract The development of advanced composite membranes for pervaporation (PV) via interfacial polymerization (IP) has attracted increasing interest various chemical separations. These achieve precise separation the construction a cross‐linked membrane structure, thereby surpassing challenging trade‐off between permeation flux and factor. This review provides comprehensive IPs in solvent dehydration, biofuel recovery, desalination PV technology. fundamentals process are introduced, including essential performance parameters transport mechanisms. A analysis optimization is subsequently performed on basis structure. Attention given to preparation selective layers interlayers, along with potential strategies, encompassing monomer modification, integration nanomaterials, emerging interlayer materials, goal determining proper conditions maintaining optimal permeability selectivity. Further discussion focuses IP such as employing metal–organic frameworks, covalent organic porous cages building blocks. Moreover, evaluates across diverse applications, organic–organic separation, desalination. also highlights unresolved scientific technical challenges, aiming inspire advancements next‐generation membranes.
